This Band originated in Edmonton in 1970. The group has entertained internationally in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Trinidad, the United States and Canada. They have recorded 28 albums, including their latest release "Sentimental Favorites" resulting in 6 gold, 2 platinum, and 1 double platinum award.

In 1997, The Emeralds were included into the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Hall of Fame. The Emeralds are Internationally Acclaimed Gold & Platinum Recipents and are the band behind the International Hit "The Bird Dance."

The Emeralds have received countless awards and citations including a Juno Award Nomination in "Country Group of Year" and a Juno Award Nomination in "Instrumental Artists of the Year." They have been honored with a Double Gold Album Award in New Zealand and the Alberta Achievement Award for outstanding competitive performance in music.

They have Gold & Platinum Award for "Just For You", K-Tel International 1982 and for "Bird Dance", K-Tel International 1982. Lets not forget their Four Golden Reel Awards, Ampex Corporation, Redwood City, California – 1982, 1983 & 1984.
