Killingberg Orchestra (pronounced Shillingberg) are a band from Leksvik in the middle part of Norway, over the fjord north of Trondheim.
The Orchestra prides itself in its ability to play all sorts of music, from folk dance music to hard-rock. The band travels around Trondelag playing for various engagements growing or shrinking to accommodate the venue and the event.
We are a kind of family band, because everyone in the family plays as a group quite often maintaining the family tradition into its third generation.
Patriarch Arnstein Killingberg is the band leader and plays chromatic accordion or Bass
.For folk and dance music he is joined by his wife Grete who plays both Chromatic and diatonic accordion. Daughter, Ida Killingberg was just 9 years old when she first came to Kimberley and played diatonic accordion with the Orchestra. This year she will be flying in directly from her college classes to join the family once again on the KIOTAC Stage.
This years concert will feature the youngest Killingberg, Alexander; playing lead guitar and showing how well accordions can be used as back-up or co-leading in some other genres of music. Svein Arild Bjerkan will be adding the bass lines and back-up vocals.
